Yoshino Forest collaboration
K-3 is proud to collaborate with the Yoshino Forest in Japan’s Nara region, honouring the enduring tradition of sustainable forestry. For over five centuries, custodians of the lush forests have sustainably cultivated and harvested Sugi wood, upholding practices that safeguard its role in Japanese culture and craft. Historically valued for its use in temples, shrines, and ancient boat building, Sugi wood holds a revered place in Japanese tradition. Working alongside these artisans, K-3 has transformed Sugi into a collection that speaks to both the past and future of Japanese craftsmanship. This collaboration produces high performance surfboards that embody strength and durability, while serving as works of art – symbolising a commitment to heritage, artistry, and sustainability.
